I got a strange message earlier that said something about a database error. It had links to refresh the page or go to the homepage and select another topic. It said the administrator has been notified. There was what looked like a capital V in the upper left corner.

Refreshing didn’t help or going to the homepage. I tried to copy it to my clipboard so I could paste it here once it was up again, but it seems it didn’t take.

This is Safari. It happened on the main index page I think. Just posting it because I’m hoping it wasn’t bogus. Or if anyone else saw it. This was about 2 hours ago or so. I closed the window and reopened it and it was okay then.

I had that earlier, maybe 5 or 6 hours ago. It lasted about 15 minutes after I found it and went away without my doing anything. I just figured it was a glitch of some kind. Everything's fine now.

When we get hit by bots, sometimes they don't care about asking for pages politely and try and overwhelm our server with requests. That's what causes these database errors. We try our best to mitigate these issues before they actually cause problems, and I'm sorry for the outage.
