I don't know if this would be too technically challenging or not, but if we could have a way to label trigger warnings. Like there'd be the
Possible trigger:
I mean, there are days I can handle SI, SH, etc. that's in a box but not food stuff or drug use in a box, and within context of the post it might not seem like it was one of the things I probably shouldn't be seeing that day and then "oops, that was content my mind wasn't expecting within that context, but there it is and here I am feeling stupid for clicking the show button." If that kind of feature isn't on the radar, maybe it could just be common courtesy for users to give a general idea of what's in it like putting "tw: food" or "tw: self harm" or "tw: drug use" before it?

Oh, i like that. Like a trigger title or trigger subject. It could even be a drop down box: AA, NA, OA, SA - whichever meeting you should be directed to! I need one for DA - Dumbshyte Anon. SH, SI, etc.
ETA - You cant tell i used to be a coder, can you? |

Great idea! Unfortunately the built-in feature that allows us to create these kinds of custom codes doesn't allow for that specific functionality.
We'll put it on the wish list. Thank you. Edit: We put it on the wish list and with the help of AI, I coded this into the forum software.

Thanks for putting it on the wish list. Fellow community members, do you think while it's not able to get put into practice if it's not obvious what's in the box we could put a general label before it?
I mean, if we're in the self harm thread and you're talking about getting out the the ER after engaging in typical self harm behaviors, it's safe to assume it's about self-harming behaviors, and same goes in addiction forums, but like if we're in the bipolar forum and our entire post is in a box, or the content of the rest of the post doesn't make it obvious what the triggering content is, can we please state why the content is triggering enough to be in a trigger box in the post for our other members to let them better decide if it's something they want to click "show" or not that day? Thank you if anybody decides to do this ![]()

I think that is doable.
Like, post post post tw for dumb joke then hit the red X button
Possible trigger:
Back to regular posting. The red x button is in the 2 formatting lines, far right, and looks like this post's title flag. We could update the TRIGGER CODE instructions just in case anybody ever does search them! ETA - I updated that old thread to point to this thread. Not confusing at all! Okay, with the help of chatgpt and vibe coding, I was able to custom code this functionality.
Use (trigger=some general idea of subject matter) to specify the subject matter of the trigger. (Replace parentheses with brackets and close the triggering content with the end trigger code as you normally would (/trigger).) This is not a requirement for use of the trigger bb code. If you don't want to specify the subject matter, that's perfectly okay. But your fellow members would appreciate your using it going forward.

Here's what it looks like in practice:
Testing this code for anyone
Possible trigger: test of the subject matter
