I'm seeing user pictures as, like, 1 pixel wide, but at what I think is their full height.

A bug from the transfer of the data... All new posts will display only one signature line. Thanks!

Do you have the option to make the "Over 15 Posts" thing stop flashing or go away? I can't be the only person who finds it annoying. I'm also not the only person who can SEE that the number of resposes is over 15, by actually looking at the number. D'oh.

I know several members here are distracted/annoyed/given a headache by flashing objects on the web.

I just posted like four or five times, and my total number of posts STILL reads 263. I know it is more than that now, not by much, but it's definitely more than 263. What is up with that? Can it be fixed somehow? Bugs, issues or problems with the new forum software

Oh sure, NOW the number decides to move up one! I know it is still off by a few though, because I posted several times before this. Can I change it?

I am unable to post a reply on SweetCrusader's thread here in General... so far this seems to be the only thread I am unable to post on Bugs, issues or problems with the new forum software

There is no "reply" feature ... Bugs, issues or problems with the new forum software

It doesn't update with every post, the information is supposed to be cached (temporarily saved) until it does do the post number update. You should see it gradually increment over time.

I did not find the thread about the change until last night. So I printed out the message (I hope that is ok, cause of the copyright thing) anyway, like the message said when I went to log in today, it came up not like normal.

I followed the instructions from the message and went to open location and entered in the address you gave.

Then chose to log in. That went ok, and ended up at the control menu and pm. Had no trouble sending the pm. On my "favorites" I added the blank log-in page and am I to use that to get here now?

I edited the display how I had thought I had it before, only it seems the threads that show up are from last month. And not from recent it seems.

I talked about the change in therapy today before I came here today. I know it sounds silly only this is really overwhelming to me only T reminded me to ask questions and communicate.

Is there a guide or instruction manual on how to use these new things and how to operate the new format of the forum? I have done ok through trial and error, only at times I am better able to comprehend things if they are step by step spelled out for me.

I did manage to recieve/send/and preview a pm and have written down the new faces codes for the posts.

Thank you for your time.
Chris

There is the FAQ option in the upper-right hand corner that gives you some additional help and information about the new features available.

This is the same forum software, however, just a newer version. That means it operates nearly exactly as the old software does, but does have more options, certainly.

Best,
DocJohn

Kris

I think it is a good idea to keep in mind what DocJohn said about this being the same software, just an upgrade... so don't get overwhelmed by all the new stuff.

Although it looks a bit different, all the old stuff is there and might work a little differently, but mostly the same as it did before.

So if it might make it more comfortable, ignore the new stuff and just work on finding your way around the stuff that you already are familiar with from the old site.

For example my habit is to read down a thread, and at the bottom use the "jump" button to return to the message list of that same forum. I like that the current formum is already in the list box so I just click on the button to go.

On the new forum, the button is a little lower because there is some additional information at the bottom now, so the button doesn't immediately follow the last message. It also looks a bit different. I had been trained to click the jump button pretty much automatically, but with the slight changes I find I have to actually look for it consciously now. After a few days I'll be "retrained".

I think once you are "trained" to where everything from the old site is on the new site, you'll feel perfectly comfortable again, and then if you want to you can look at some of the new stuff, but there is no need to if you are more comfortable sticking to what you know.

And we're always here to answer a question about the software that you might have, and feel free to PM me or email me if you have a question.

Adding my two cents.....i hate the flames too. Very distracting and unnecessary, IMO.
Too many little, fancy gizmos now too. Gremlins, UBB code, Font colors, icons etc......is that all necessary, really???
I'm not at all happy with the new and so-called "improved" site.
Sorry, I guess I just don't take well to change. I liked it better the way it was.

Doc it is making me log in everytime I come here now, even with the "remember me" box checked. Is this happening to anyone else?

I cleared my cookies and let the site replace them in case that was the problem, but no change. I cleared all the cookies from "psychcentral" and looked for any from "grohol.com" (didn't find any)... maybe there is one that I missed?

Testing. In 'My Profile' my old avatar under my name is coming up like someone said above, about 1 pixel wide. Also, it said "signature too long...cannot proceed" ???

Okay, everything worked when I viewed my post, but why aren't my two signature lines coming up in purple like they used to?
