The smilies on the first page. I can't see "grouphug," "thud", "throb", "love", "hug", and "holy sheep"! What's going on??

Also, I still have to scroll until I can find the first UNREAD post... even when I click the button that's supposed to take you to it.

These little purple faced that are supposed to be mad don't look like it, either. They look sad. Doesn't work for me. ggrrr

It's your browser's cache -- clear it and you should be all set. All the images are there, there's nothing we can do to make this work for you on our end.

September,

Is this what you're getting too?

I've cleared cache, cookies, temp internet pages, etc. and I can't get 1/2 the smilies to come up for posts, responses or PM's. For instance, here in this advanced response window, many aren't showing.

Still Having Trouble With...

Even when I pull up the full list, it looks like this:

Still Having Trouble With...

Here's the clincher, they work for me on IE but not mozilla FF. Go figure. Still Having Trouble With... I've shut down puter and made sure FF was completely updated. I don't know if something isn't compatible with the latest updated version that downloaded for me on 8/31?

Wish I knew because I much prefer FF over IE.

Thanks!

KD

Thanks for this!

I use Mozilla also, and also have all the smilies. IDK it could be the limit of memory (computer setting.) I'm using Vista, btw.

I'm using Vista too.

Here's another thing...they load fine on the puter in my livingroom...with XP. It's way old...lol.

I know there's a little trick that I'm forgetting, etc., but heck if I can think of it.

In Firefox, try right-clicking on one of the smilies not showing and choose "View image" from the menu. That should pull up the smilie in the browser window by itself. If it doesn't show, hit super-reload (SHIFT-Reload button), and see if it appears.

This is indeed an odd, perplexing problem......

Thanks for trying, DocJohn.

I did all that and didn't get any resolve.

I even copied the location (from right-click) and pasted it into a fresh, separate window and nothing but a white screen...no image.

I don't know if that helps?

DocJohn,

If you worked on this today, it helped...lots. September, what about you? Anyone else who'd been doing the same thing? What's your status with it please?

In fact, there's only five now that I can't see:

Quote:
:grouphug :holysheep :thud :throb :love
They're pretty popular ones, but that's OK by me!

When I tried to copy and paste the ones here that I couldn't see from the "more smiley" box, it copied the codes and NOTHING showed up on this post...LOL. Had to do it by hand.

Just and FYI and a thanks if appropriate!

KD

Well, that one is there. Gasp! I had to widen the more smilie box, because there was a whole other column of them to the right of the other ones.

Doc, I clear my cache and temp files every night before I run the spyware program.

I notice that the smilie's positions have changed but I still can't see the ones I couldn't see before. I'm on IE 7 and using XP. Forget AOL! I hardly every use it anymore. ggrrr

I'd like to know what the hug looks like so I could just type in the code... as well as throb, but I can live without them. I'm sure you've got more important things to attend to... As well as relaxing on your birthday!

LMBO, Packy! It took me a couple of days to realize I needed to extend the smilie box! LOL BTW, "that one" isn't there for me.

Kimmy, what you showed is exactly what I'm STILL getting after doing everything that everyone has suggested. I'm still on IE7. Forget using AOL!

Sure is a bummer!
