not sure if this is where to post this but hey...

after pruchasing 3 new DSL modems...making 7 phone calls to AT & T Yahoo DSL support...and having my local computer "geek" discombobulate my entire computer files, we have determined that McAfee Virus protection was causing my Internet to go haywire

the solution......remove the program.....and Internet is faster than ever!

why did it happen.....not sure....althouogh the computer techs at AT& T dont think highly of McAfee.....

might check your computer

Yeah...sometimes folks will have that kind of problem with the antivirus softwares.

One place that is free to do a virus check (and I recommend always using more than one) is here -

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

The reason I suggest this is because not all antivirus software programs have every single up to date virus in their repetoire. I've found viruses and trojans through this free scan that weren't found by Symantic.

It's free, and you can scan while surfing the net. It can also be used when using an installed antivirus software such as McAffee or Symantic or any other out there.

Brian, I have been suspicious of McAfee too! When it was time for me to renew my subscription with them, I began having all kinds of problems and I wondered if they manipulated that so I would hurry and renew.

Makes ya think, huh?!

Thanks sabby for the site in your post.
