Have you installed something funky recently?
You might need to update the driver for the keyboard.
You can also do a troubleshoot on it.

Go to Control Panel
Click on Keyboard
Click on Hardware
Click on Properties
Click on Driver
Update Driver

Click on Troubleshoot. Even if it says this device is working properly, go through the steps.

Do you have a System Restore option? You might want to Restore it back to when it was working properly.
Uninstall it then reinstall?

Good luck. I have no clue, lol.

It could be possible too that you have too many programs running at startup. This will take away from your computers response time.

Are you using Vista or XP?

I know how frustrating this can be hon.....take some deep breathes my friend!

Dear Kerry,

Two things, absolutely essential, to the operation of any windows computer, is ridding it of viruses and spyware. Many of your computer troubles, may very well evaporate, upon completing these two maintenance procedures.

hey Jinny,

If you do a system restore, you should not loose anything.

First off I would run the antivirus and a spyware program to make sure that all is ok in that respect. If you have a system registry cleaner, I would run that as well then do a defrag. If things are still not working right, then do a system restore to a day when you know that the computer was running properly.

Vista is a huge program. If you put Vista on a computer that does not have enough memory, it can slow it down tremendously. I would also check to see what programs are running at start up. If you have a lot of programs starting up such as IM programs, windows messenger, aol messenger, msn messenger etc, will also slow your computer down. I find no need to start these until I want to use them.

(sorry, that was Amy being a turd) LOL

Hope that helps!

I doubt if this frog of little brain can really offer any assistance. However there is a trojan horse (as opposed to a thoroughbred) than can attack your system. Apparently it has been modifying itself so it's exact appearance on you system could be different

It has something to do where you receive a pop up message on your screen saying there is an update to say windows or some other program. Then it gives you the standard options Update my system now, Cancel or the little "x" box in the upper right corner. Regardless of your reply it runs the program and puts the trojan horse on your system.

You don't have to answer yes for it to attack your system. Even clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner and you are doomed. The only safe way to stop the attack is leave the screen as it is. The remove the program with your task manager. Delete the task from the list of tasks in use. This should delete the program without attacking your system.

I'm not tech savvy but some one said if it gets into you system the only way to remove the program is to reload the entire system.

Jinny, you probably need to UNinstall SP2. Either that or begin using Firefox.
The problem is with IE and the SP2 from what I read on the net.

There might be a newer update, mine use to do it automatically, but I had to totally wipe the mother board when SP2 loaded.

I refuse the update now, and am using firefox. No problems.

Sounds like you've been a busy beaver LOL Glad things are running better for you....I hate having too many stoopid programs starting up and taking resources away. Heck, if I want to use them I'll open them myself when I need them
