I have noticed that some things I know I posted answers to go missing - and that other members have posted saying "I could have sworn I replied to this", so i am not the only one missing posts. ANyone else noticing this?? For example, I know without doubt that I was the first person to respond to Zorah's health post (because I was on when it was posted) and now it is not there. The others, I just assumed I was crazier than I thought... but I KNOW it was there. I just don't have any proof. =(

I noticed that a post someone made directly after mine in a thread was later gone. I assumed that person had thought twice about the post and deleted it. (We now have the ability to delete our posts, unlike at the old board.) I was sorry the post was missing as I had liked it!

The time that can elapse and you can still edit a post seems to have greatly increased. I don't know how long it is now.

I believe you have four hours in which to edit/delete a post now.

The moderators here on Psych Central sometimes remove posts. If it is yours that they remove, they are supposed to inform you by PM. However, if a whole thread is removed and your post is in the thread, you may well not be informed.

If anyone has missing posts, please contact an admin via PM so that we can see who/where/what and see if we can see a pattern or something going on.

Alot of times we'll notice posts missing, and they might've been deleted by the member or removed by the admin team. Only the poster will be notified of removal if it's an admin action due to member privacy.

Now, one thing you might've noticed others saying is that they've made posts but they're not here...new members. When it's a new member saying this, it's because every new member goes through a five post moderation process where their posts must be approved by admin. Many don't see that in the guidelines and get confused as to why the post isn't showing right away.

We do the moderation as a tool to protect the forums from spam, etc.

I think that might be what you've seen mentioned here, Kiya.

Thanks!

KD

With established posters, it can be the etc. that causes problems.

Well, I would agree excepting that the new member moderation only happens with new members. That shouldn't affect an established member's experience at all.

Thanks,

KD

(((((((( Kiya ))))))))))

An easy way when in the forums to look for a post you have made in the past is to click on your name to the left of your post and a drop down will give you an option of finding more posts by you. Click on that option and a window appears with all of your posts that you can look through and find what you are looking for

Hope that helps!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
