It used to be one could give someone else -anyone else- a hug as a reply. No more.
It was a good way to help newbies to the site begin to show compassion and let others know they care. It was a good way to let someone know you read their post and maybe didn't have any words to say, and let the  do it for you.Now, those days are gone and one has to add in as many as 3 smileys to say the same thing. Sometimes it looks a bit fake, but please know that it's not our fault. We all have to do that, or the message of how our reply isn't long enough comes back with an unsent reply.  I miss those days already, don't you?

Change is always a challenge Sky..at least it has been for me...
But challenges open up new pathways for me and possibilites..  Maybe the server thought just a hug was not enough of a welcome after a new user went through all the typing and directions to join... A "Hi" and "Welcome"...now fullfills the servers aspirations of an open heart... Just maybe, Lenny

Yes, just uses spaces followed by a single period, that works (and takes about an additional 2 seconds, for which I apologize).

AWW, Doc! You gave it away!
 I don't like responses that just have a hug or a heart. It really doesn't tell me anything. I like that you had to type in something besides just a smilie.  Don't worry, though.  I'm not gonna whine about it; just work around it.   I like the little heart too, but I'm attached to this one so that's what I'ma giving ya.
