with my computer files, namely my picture files. I noticed this afternoon that while I was uploading pix to my albums it was difficult to find the folders. I'm thinking this is the reason why: C:\Documents and Settings\Tomi\Desktop\Jerry\My Pictures.

What happened that it changed and added my husband's name to the path?? I guess that's not as important as How do I get rid of it?? Every time I download pix from my digital camera, I play merry hell finding them even if I try saving it to a folder.

The pix folders do not show up on his account. He only has one folder and those are pictures that get downloaded from email only.

This is really frustrating! Can someone show me how to fix this?

C:\Documents and Settings\Tomi\Desktop\Jerry\My Pictures.

So that folder will only be visible of the desktop user "Tomi" despite having your husbands name. If you look on "Tomi's" desktop you will see a folder marked Jerry, and inside of that My Pictures.

Are you using a program to import your pictures or do you just drag and drop them off an SD card?

By golly, yes! That's where a lot of the pictures are!

I mostly download them from my digital camera. What's an SD card?

OH! The program I use that came with my camera is FinPixViewer. I can edit pix with it but I prefer to use Microsoft PictureIt.

How do I change it?

Right click on one of the pictures, and click properties. From there you can change the program that it opens with to Microsoft PictureIT

They all open with Microsoft PictureIt anyway. Don't I want to change the location of the folders? How would I do that? I want to move them all to " 'MY' " Pictures. From there, I can decide which ones to put in a share folder.

I'm not understanding how they get in that folder to begin with..

You said you "Download them from [your] camera" -- How do you do that? Chances are that program/method is what determines where the pictures go.

I downloaded IE6. That's where all the trouble began. It came to me having to delete my husband's account because it had all gone haywire. The process asked me if I wanted to save his files and I said "yes." Actually not much was saved, but that's when I started having problems with the pictures. I completely lost "My Pictures" from the directory, except that when I click "Start" they do show up and it takes me there. The problem lies in uploading pix, like to here. I can't find some of the files and I can't find "My Pictures" under Documents and Settings no matter how I look.

Come to think of it, going to Start and clicking Run and typing in Cookies doesn't work either. My cookies aren't going there. I had to make a folder with the shortcut to the folder that is saving my cookies. It works fine on my husband's account, though.

Help, anyone? How do I change where my pictures are going? They aren't being saved to "My Pictures."

Ok. heres what i need. what operating system are you using? windows xp or vista.

secondly write down step by step what screens you see when you try to download and what they say. from that i should be able to walk you through how to change the default.

Let me know when you can.

Colleen!! I did it! I fixed where my pictures get saved and I didn't even have to remove the program first! All I had to do was change the setting. LOL

Now for my cookie folder...
