smiley abbreviations...can they be adjusted?

This is obviously for the webmaster and/or admin with technical access...

Can the actual type accepted be adjusted on the smileys? What I mean is that if I type :Hug: it won't show (which is all lowercase) the same for the has to be in all caps or it won't show :rotflmao:

(Of course for me, I would just as soon the type be adjusted to be rotfl.

It would be much easier if it could take both for all of them, if it didn't matter whether it was typed in upper, lower, or a mix of cases.
