I've been reading this forum for a long time, but never quite plucked up the courage to join in. Until now.

Still not entirely sure how I'll go with interacting; offline, i'm severely anxious when it comes to any kind of social chitchat and go to great lengths to avoid it wherever possible. And I haven't really managed to be any more sociable online.

But, i have PTSD (complex trauma) and it's coming up to the most triggering time of year for me - late Nov through 'til early Jan contains several big triggers - and i think this year it might be helpful to have a place to come to when things start getting scary so I can (try to) interact with people who understand.

So ... um ... hi!

Hi, yes, it's very helpful. If you know the upcoming months are going to be hard, it's good that you have decided to be proactive about facing it with support.
Thanks for this!

Hi GeminiNZ, welcome to PC and the PTSD forum. I think it's great that you gave it a try. You don't have to feel like you have to talk about your challenges here, and your support is welcome as the different members have challenges too and it helps to have the support and just know another person understands the challenge. Others here do understand how anniversaries can be a challenge too so we are here to help and support you through them.

Thanks for this!

This is the first time I've heard of Complex PTSD, but I think I've known for some time that I have it, just not diagnosed with it and didn't know about it. I've just known that I have PTSD steming from

Thank you for having this support group where we can learn from each other and be supportive. Feeling more hopeful now.
