I can get overwhelmed really easily and then lost in thoughts and images. I was feeling more upbeat yesterday with T and then had some images that started to take me away from the session. T handled it so well and managed to get me to stay present in the room.
T said I could choose to go with the thoughts or stay with T and encouraged me to look around to know that I was safe, those things in my head were not happening, they were "just" thoughts. I had never managed to have any control over those thoughts before, so this feels like a break through moment for me and I wanted to share on here. Soup

That "is" a breakthrough. At first for a while one seems to drift and lose track of the now, and it does take time for the person to "learn" they do that sometimes, but can choose to be in the now. It's a matter of slowly understanding what is taking place and then learning what one can do when it happens.

Hi avlady, I used to experience that a lot, but recently seem more able to stay in the room and "awake" to what T is saying.
