It seems like a lot of people have chronic pain with CPTSD. I have back pain, which causes other pains, I've had two back surgeries, 1 knee surgery, 2 carpal tunnel surgeries, and have Fibro so I'm told, but I think it's just these other problems, or maybe it's the Fibro causing the other problems, chicken and the egg type of thing.
Today I had an injection in my shoulder. The numbing is wearing off so I'm bracing myself for a hellish day tomorrow.

Since I wrote this I had a emotional melt down several days in a row. Very uncommon for me. But then I wondered if this injection had anything to do with it. Maybe it did. I have found article saying steroid injections can make depression worse. Google it and see for yourself, I don't know why they wouldn't warn people about this.

They should definitely warn people about that sort of thing.

I actually have a fair amount of chronic pain that rarely has an explanation. My right wrist, my hip, my head, my back, my knee, my neck and my chest/shoulders.

Only my neck and shoulder (which have gone through surgery) and my knee (injured pretty bad during sports) should still hurt the way they do. Eventually, they checked out my back. I have some interesting injuries to my spinal cord no one can explain.

Oh, and my lower right abdomen. Hurts all of the time without cause. All the test have concluded that nothing's visibly wrong. I don't know how to explain that.

Have they ruled out Fibromyalgia? I've had those injections in my back, knees, ankles, wrists and now my shoulder.
I wasn't even asked if I was being treated for depression, or if I had a history of that.

I can't believe you weren't even asked. That should be an actual warning.

I'm pretty young, but they did check that and arthritis and other things. Nada.

Don't give up, I would have to have a second opinion if I were in that much pain and nothing was found. Is it possible to get a second opinion? Or do you even want to go through that?

To be honest, not really. I'm pretty sure the pain isn't real, anyway. I get a lot of phantom pain in my body. Trauma is glorious that way.
