How do you think someone would respond to a smear campaign if they didn't have complex ptsd? For me whether it's at work or in my personal life, when I find out someone has painted me in a negative light to other people behind my back I feel furious. I wonder what a normal reaction to that would be. What do you think? |

Confronting people who have been manipulated by a narcissist never ends well. |

So for me, yes I get furious, but I also hide that and tend to isolate myself. Luckily, this hasn't happened again. __________________ "Do you know what’s really scary? You want to forget something. "Smearing"? That reads as mocking my use of the word.

I'm going through a smear campaign against me right now, and I don't have PTSD.
My feelings personally range from: Anger Helplessness Despondency Frustration Sadness Depression Indignation Hopelessness Shame Worthlessness It's sad that this is what a smear campaign can do to you I think some of it depends too, on who started the campaign. Who was it that started the smear campaign against you? An ex, a friend? |

Neither. I don't know what to call him. He said something about me to a person I introduced him to and this person believed what he said without checking with me. I'm furious. |

That's the hard part... seeing friends fall away from you and you have no idea what's being said and why they all believe it.... |
