I'm actually pretty excited about it and I'll be in the area of TN where it'll be 100%. I've always been fascinated by astronomy and all things universe/space. What's making you anxious?

Just some of the end of the world talk. I don't believe it, but if it is there's nothing we can do, ya know. Don't look at it. I'm in NC so it will be total here also.

There is no sense in giving into the pointless fearmongering about phenomena such as this that is started by uneducated individuals.
No, the world isn't going to end. I guarantee that I will be on PC on Aug 22nd reading this thread with a smile on my face. People who make such baseless claims that can't even be backed up by actual scientific evidence about how the world is coming to an end over eclipses or whatever else are idiots. The 2012 crap comes to mind because of how people thought that the world was going to come to an end on Dec 21st 2012, yet look where we are now lol. I am going to enjoy it personally. I love the night. |

Look at how many religious "miracles" were actually based on scientific phenomenons like eclipses.

Here is a Wikipedia piece that lists end of the world and other disaster predictions through the ages:

My daughter and son-in-law are traveling to Portland, Oregon to witness the full eclipse. I'm not afraid that the world is going to end, but I am feeling a bit anxious about the eclipse. It's just the change, the deviation from normal. I'm afraid of the weird sensation. But any kind of change causes me to be anxious, so.....

Portland will only get a slice. To witness the totality, they'll need to keep driving south until they pass below Lincoln City on the coast, Salem along Interstate 5, or Madras in the interior.

I've been studying and practising astrology for 37+ years. Everytime I've gotten an eclipse on a sensitive area of my chart, there has been a catastrophe of the "things will never be the same" type.
