Please keep Las Vegas and the victims in your thoughts. It's hard to make sense of the situation there, why so many innocent people were taken by a troubled person. The suspect doesn't fit the profile. None of it makes sense unless it was to retaliate against a Casino or Las Vegas in general.

How can you make me think this world is not a dangerous place with things like this happening?

I feel blown away. Hopeless. I cannot imagine what it was like for the thousands of victims, it was certainly a traumatic experience for them! Even if they weren't hurt physically. SO Sad!!!

This world is definitely a dangerous place, but that does not mean we must all live in daily fear of it.

Easier said than done for some.

Understood and agreed, and hopefully we can each find some perspective there.

I'm still stunned at the coverage, hearing the gunshots , seeing the wounded. Triggers so much stuff, too much.

It was truely a horrible thing that happened in Vegas

And yes, the world can be a dangerous place. But it can also be a safe place. This is a rare event ( thankfully) and there is also so much good in the world.

I try to avoid media these days. When I read newspapers, watch the news, it is always about the negatives in life and it can be quite triggering for me. It gets stuck in my head and distorts my view of life.

I have experienced negative events, but the days on which these happened are only a small minority of the days I have been alive. It is my head that remembers them everyday, the events do not actually happen everyday and I have survived them.

It is autumn here now and the leaves on the trees are changing colour and walking through the woods, through fallen leaves, is so beautiful. So I think it is about looking for those good things and not focusing on the rare nasty stuff.

I know it is easier said than done, It is work in progress for me.

Hugs to you.

The coverage does trigger a lot. I've had to stop watching/listening to the news. It's been helpful to stop taking it in. My heart goes out, I do care; yet, caring doesn't mean I have to watch the details.

(((((( Trace ))))))))

It's a beautiful Fall day here. Am headed into the mountains for a daytrip.
Wish I could take you with me, Trace!

Have been doing well staying away from the TV and seeing the Las Vegas stuff, but still it's hard to escape it. Plus getting the memory of that Live video out of the head is difficult, very. Maybe it would be easier to put away if there were some clear cut answers about it. Maybe in time, I hope so.

Unfortunately, things have gotten spread via computer on FB...that's how I hear about all sorts of terrible news nowadays. I don't have cable tv, and my tv doesn't pick up any channels without. So, I think that I may need to add FB to my list of avoidance.

Best wishes to everyone!

Yes, FB is just as bad. Not sure why the press thinks they deserve to know so much about an active, on going investigation. Let the authorities investigate and then have a press conference , ya know? The press could really mess up an investigation, which has a messed up case to investigate.
