How do I stop people treating me with disrespect? Maybe some perceive me as “vulnerable” etc. I’ve shedded several mean and disrespectful people from my life. I’m very tired of having to put up with other people’s wrong assumptions and disrespect .. and abuse . Maybe I’ll have to isolate completely . I don’t think that would be healthy though

“Workplace bullies” ....

(Not about anyone here)

Hey there Fuzzy!

Sometimes, it is a good idea to "shed" some problematic people.

Sometimes. we want respect, without necessarily ending the relationship. In those instances, I will ask the person as to why s/he does not treat me with respect? This often results in a change in their behavior toward me.

Just a thought.

You are right, it's unhealthy to totally isolate, if we can work something out with others.

Love Ya, Fuzzy!

Unfortunately Fuzzy a lot of people don't know how to respect boundaries and we live in a very attention seeking, high drama, entitled, angry, stressed, emotional and often even narcissistic society right now. I think the other growing challenge in our overall society now is how intrusive all our technology has become. Some work environments can be very stressful and that can lead to experiencing toxic behaviors where what you may be experiencing is how at times others may vent their anger at you which can understandably be triggering.
