Is anyone else dealing with a dual dx of a mood disorder and ptsd? I’ve tried making friends in the bp forum but I smell too much like ptsd for them apparently, especially when I start talking about reducing my medication under my doctor’s supervision.

I just saw your post here. I have a dual diagnosis of bipolar and ptsd. I've always had a lot of support in the bp forum. I can't imagine that someone would give you grief for a med change, especially under a doc's supervision. We all are finding our own way, the best we can. I know my med management journey has been quite something to behold, with lots of fits and starts.

How is your med reduction going? I applaud anyone who can reduce their meds successfully. I've never been able to do it, but would like to. I'd love to hear how it is going.

It’s a med cessation not change and it’s going fine

I’m just waiting to hear back from my p doc so I can take it down another fifty although initially he said I could go down to two hundred anyway so I don’t think he would care

I’ll let you know

What symptoms got you all diagnosed with Bipolar that was not related to symptoms of c-PTSD?

This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.

Was wondering this too, they do so overlap. I have elements of BP and BPD but they all seem to come down to the CPTSD/developmental trauma
