Hi everyone, I just wanted to come back to one of my safe places. Thank you PC for being there for me all of these years. I guess I am just writing to myself really...since I have struggled with another severe emotional flashback that I did not see coming.

I was scrolling through some of my old posts and saw this one. I have learned SO much in these past three years since the original post. With all that I have learned I would have to agree with Pete Walker and other writers that, unfortunately, CPTSD is never completely healed. The body keeps the score, and those wounds can continue in some way, shape, or form for life be it in flashbacks or physical ailments.

This is SO very sad.

However, I also agree with Pete Walker, other experts, and with 5hose of you who have written here. Healing is possible. Little by little. Slowly. Gradually. There are silver linings. What has happened has happened, but the courageous choice to take the healing journey brings blessings. I believe it will never come to a specific destination, but with the goal of allowing the journey to be a teacher with a goal to manage better without being dominated by symptoms. Maybe, one day my experiences could even help someone or have some greater meaning. You better believe it IS a journey...but the journey of a lifetime.
