Hi KnitChick, flashbacks can come with a very vivid memory happens like you are actually reliving that memory or flashbacks can come in just having strong emotions and you may not even quite know what triggered the emotional flashback. Our brain stores more than we know and often when we experience something that is beyond our ability to understand or handle at the time we develop ways of disassociating ourselves because we just don't have the skills to handle whatever is happening.
It's ok to talk about a flashback, it's best if you can talk it out and try to process whatever it is that you did not know how to do at the time. |

Thanks Open Eyes. I made a note to talk to my therapist about it this week when I see her.
