The four f’s

Fight, flight, freeze, fawn..

I was recently triggered at a “compulsory” social event....

I can completely relate to this... how many abusive parents reserve their harshest punishments for “talking back” and so ruthlessly extinguish the “fight” response in the child

I’m still sometimes surprised by how MANY supposedly “intelligent” people in very “responsible” “jobs” are mean without cause ..

Maybe I’m “just stupid”

However, unlike when I was 3 years old I can fight back if needed

(Not about anyone on pc)

Once extinguished, the fight response is not easily rebuilt.

Yes, after years of keeping quiet, my fight response is gone. I jusy put my head down to absorb the emotional blows.

Grrrrrrrrr...
It sucks being me...
If someone else said that about me I wouldn’t like it..
I’m the only person who’s allowed to judge me..
And it wasn’t actually meant in a judgmental sense..
How do we repair ...

“Seeking out the poorer quarters
Where the ragged people go”

Such a sad song, so much stigma towards those whose PUS fail them so spectacularly...

Why would I have sympathy for those void of empathy or compassion

This bear “pulled herself up by her bootstraps” when completely alone....and was the “success” demanded... for a time..

But who cares about “success” or “failure” .. those judgments bore me

Much love

I am sorry your inner snake is attacking you today Fuzzy
Their venom is poisonous
Hurtful and cruel judgements from snakes.... Grrrrrrrrrrr
They even convince us that we are the ones attacking ourselves

Much love to you, your inner cub and inner snake

I am I don't like being me either. I have always - since a young age - wanted to be someone else.

From my earliest days, my personal growth was stymied by my mother. There was a lot of intentional neglect. And, there was also a lot of verbal abuse. She wanted to be the center of my world and did not care about my life at all. I am FROZEN most of the time. And, am full of FEAR and FRUSTRATION. Do you know what is a mystery to me? How to have FUN.

Definitely can relate to this. “No” was not a safe response.

I’m so sorry this was done to you all.

I have enough Fight response in me for the lot of us. . I’ve been at war to try to make peace.

Yes, they try to convince us they are not at all at fault and it is somehow us. But they are gaslighting!

Find strength from within and gravitate to people who lift you and with whom you are on equal ground.
