Hi.
I posted a little bit about this in the Dissociation forum, but I was just wondering if anyone else here has experienced this. I've never had nervous tics before. I had some twitching due to aan antipsychotic I used to take, but that stopped a while ago. I'm no longer on that medication. I've been getting nervous tics lately every time I start thinking about something I'm not ready to deal with (been struggling lately). It was so bad that I was stuttering, but that was only the one time. It's mostly body twitches and vocal grunts. Has this every happened to anyone else? My therapist a couple others have suggested seeing my PCP. Perhaps it could be an underlying health condition, but I only notice it when there's some thought/feeling I'm trying to avoid. Thanks for any feedback.

Not to be rude, how old are you? My Mum is in her early 60s and that's similar to how her Parkinson's started. Now when she's stressed, she has visible hand tremors. I'm in my 30s but in my late 20s I was on sulpiride which gave me hand tremors as well. I also have anxiety and trauma so that was one possible symptom with my anxiety too.

I think seeing the PCP is a good idea just to rule out physical causes.

Thanks for the replies. I will still be seeing my PCP since @Quietmind 2 I only 31. But as I've dealt with some things I was struggling with the tics are going away. Thank you again for your replies.

I've had a tic which causes my eyes to blink rapidly and eyelids to sort of flutter every so often, especially when I'm under physical or emotional stress. It started back when I was in 4th grade - I'm not sure what caused it, but I wouldn't rule out family life.
