Things my therapist is (trying to) teach me so far.
"It's not your fault." "Sounds like you grew up in a neglectful and dangerous environment." "Trauma doesn't keep a score card." "Some people are just more vulnerable than others." "Sometimes trauma reactions just don't make sense.'' Talking about it is rough. I think I need a break. __________________ If any chord that I could strum Make me feel less like a man I'd slam my fingers in the doorway And shatter all the bones So I could never strum again |

It sounds like your therapist has a heart. That's always good. He or she seems very insightful about trauma and its awful effects.

No therapist I've had has ever delved into my past trauma. I was told I have PTSD from being hospitalized (being ignored, yelled at, etc.).
