Dear Metro, there is a skill called Mindfulness, that can help you to uncover hidden thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and all that sort of thing. it is taught as a part of a group therapy called DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). essentially it involves sitting quietly and just watching your thoughts, feelings, and the tension in your body, and your breathing, without judgement, just watching, until the secret reveals itself. you can start acquiring this skill yourself, by just sitting and being aware of your breathing, how fast, how slow, how deep, how shallow, chest or stomach, etc. if that is too hard and you find you are loosing your focus too often, try sitting and counting 1001, 1002, 1003,, etc, until you find yourself calm enough to watch your breath. this is the beginning of a long succession of emotion managment skills, which will give you back control of your life,, to some extent, more and more as you practice. if you want to talk more about this, ,PM me, or come into a chat where you see me, and i will talk with you about it. look around your community for a DBT group, or even individual therapy provider... best wishes,, Gus
