Does anyone know of a way to control their negative compulsiveness. This has ruined my life and my reputation as well as other's lives. Please help me to find a way to stop and THINK before doing something so compulsive!

By definition, a compulsive behavior is difficult to control. One way to train yourself to stop and think is to do it ALL the time. Like before you put on your socks in the morning, stop and think about it. Before you make toast, stop and think about it, and so on.
It takes a lot of work to retrain your brain to act differently. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for this!

I agree with Gr3tta. You have to stop think about it before you do it. I am working on this myself. I have to work at it but it does work when I make an effort. We are all striving to control our bad habits.

I think I battle with the same - my T touched on this at our last session and I think we'll carry on where we left off when I go back tomorrow.

I almost cannot help feeling negative and consequently get myself stuck in a rut.
