I have a temper that is so easily set off by everything. Everything from the cat pushing up against my leg when I'm not in the mood, to my brother moving on the couch. Things like other people doing stupid activities, not responding in a conversation.. all these things can set me off. But with my anger comes usually violence. I'm better at controlling myself now over a few years ago, but hitting objects, throwing them and getting that reflex to hit my brother when he pushes me too far, are still very much apart of the whole situation.

I hate feeling so mad all the time. My anger makes me flustered, and I cannot talk right or think straight. Some people might say they can use their anger as a weapon, but mine is just a self-destruct button.

I was like that as a teenager... and I still get like that. I think mainly for me it is hormones.

Try to take a deep breathe and count to 10 in your head when it happens.. slows down the anger and gives you time to think more rationally.

I try to do that sometimes, especially if I need to go to sleep. It works half the time, the other half it gives my mind free space to start ranting again. I'll tell myself to relax and stop thinking about it because it doesn't matter, but that other voice is all like "yeah but.." and go on into why it's so stupid and I'll get mad all over again.

Today really sucked for my impatience.

My brother woke up tired and moody from walking around all night for Halloween. I was okay with him being a little slow, but when I tell him to go to do something and with each sentence he questions and retaliates; it gets really annoying after a while. and my stress level kept getting higher and higher. Most of the morning was spent arguing with him, for every thing he needed to do he had an excuse not to. He's too young now apparently to brush his teeth, he can't put on his socks cause he has no arms, being 9 is now a logical reason to throw things at the cat, and screaming is now the best way to make your sister give you candy for breakfast!

He is not a great person to watch when you have limited patience and a horrible temper.

I used to feel this way all the time.. I WAS this way all the time when I was a little younger. I'm still a teenager but I am at the end of it now and my teen years, especially 13-17 were pretty bad as far as temper goes. A lot of that was caused by home abuse, bullying, and things like that. I know that you've gone through some of that as well, so I really relate to what you're going through. I can't offer much help other than I had it, and I am A LOT better now. You're getting better too and I think you'll turn out like me and the temper and mood swings will ease a bunch. It won't be right away, however slowly but surely I think you'll get out of it. Just something a lot of us go through. Try to stay patient and direct your anger on things other than other people and you'll be OK. Hopefully everyone you live with will understand what you've been through and that this is just a reaction from it right now and that you can't help it.
Thanks for this!
