Hey, I've been getting a lot of voices recently, and I've just gotten fed up with them. They make me really angry. And God has made it so it's like impossible to serve him. I've been acting out more than I usually do (hitting my bed, kicking my bed, etc), but nothing serious. The voices drive me crazy. They don't relent. Even when they already have gotten me angry, they still stick it to me.

And medicine doesn't seem to help at all.

How can I get my anger out without getting in trouble with anyone, or hurting myself?

Perhaps you need a different med or a different dosage. When do you see your pdoc again?

Not real sure how to get the anger out. Journaling perhaps. Talking to someone helps me sometimes. There is usually somebody on psychcentral who has had a similar experience.

Perhaps you might think of it less as getting the anger out as getting the peace and calm in. Do something calming that you enjoy. Music, a good movie, if you artistic you could paint or draw or sculpt. Basically something to distract your mind from what is bothering you even if it is just for an hour or so. Let us know how it goes.

Can you do a little visualization??? The "voices" in my head used to drive me MAD until I did a little visualization - and my shrink said it was GREAT - and he'd use it with his patients!!!

First - I have 2 "voices" in my head. One is a man and one is a woman. I don't know why they are like that, but that's what I "see" when i "look" for the voices. The woman is the one doing all the talking. The man just stands there. This woman talks all the time - she never shuts up - so when it gets to be too much this is what I do:

I've "built" a clear plexiglass wall - you can see thru it. When the voices get too loud, I push this "imaginary" button and the wall goes UP. Now i can't hear the voices anymore!!! It stops ALL the noise. It REALLY WORKS!! When the noise is quiet, I can let the wall down.

You can't leave the wall up or else this won't work -- the voices would find another way to bother you. So you have to let the wall down until they get too noisy again.

I hope this works for you --- or someone. It has saved me from so much chaos! Hugs, Lee
