how do you deal with stress when it's so overwhelming you'd rather just die?

Take some time to identify the cause(s) and then work to get rid of those causes, get used to what cannot be changed, and realize you shouldn't be so quick to say "that can't be changed."

Hi again - I am sorry that you seem to be having such a hard time right now and that the stress feels overwhelming - have you talked to your doctor? I see a therapist regularly and that really helps me.

Take care - Soup

This is something that helps me: I take a notebook or a piece of paper, and make a list of everything that is stressing me out. This gets all these upsetting situations out of my head and down on paper. Then, I can choose to put the paper away and walk away for awhile...OR, I can choose something on my list and plan how to deal with it - which usually means creating subsequent lists. I also decided the other night before falling asleep that I need to designate a shoe box to put these sorts of papers in to put them away for the night before bed, so I get them out of my mind so I'm able to sleep!! Hope this helps.

Physical exercise is one of my favorite stress relievers. Walking fast, for several miles and listening to quick tempo music helps. Other stress relievers that help me: cleaning, (scrubbing things) baking, writing in my journal, word-search puzzles, drinking a cup of hot tea or hot chocolate, imagining being out in nature (sounds, sights, smells, touch, hear) are all relaxants for me.

Those things get me through the dark days and into less intense state of mind. Still may be stressed, but not to the same extent at all. It does help with practice.

thanks for the feedback. my doctor prescribed me klonopin which seemed to make my mood deteriorate more. Idk if it was that or just the level of stress which has been gradually reducing. In any case, i'm doing ok.

If things don't go how they should and any little thing is off I get stressed and my mood changes and I feel like I'm choking. Sometimes I want to punch something or brake something. Any advice?
