It's important to know how to cope with emotions in a positive way. Some people are very to sensative to certain subjects. They should learn how to not get too upset.

Do you have anyone particular in mind?

What you say is truth. I can be a tad sensitive. Now I am an old dog, so it is better. I have learned not to get too upset, but things people say still can hurt.

Our parents tell us, "Sticks and stones can break your bones but names will never hurt you."

It's a nice thing to tell a little kid, but it's not true. Words hurt.

And while people like me can be too sensitive, I've also come to recognize that I can sometimes be too blunt and hurt someone without meaning to do it. So I also work hard to try to say things in a way that respects the other person's feelings. I don't always succeed, but I do care about this.

What about you?

Learning how not to get "too upset" is good, but it's not always successful.

There are certain subjects that people are passionate about -- lets say animal abuse or abortion. How do you NOT get upset about subjects that you're really INTO? Yes, you try to avoid them but when some dork brings them up, it can be difficult.

And there are people "out there" who just seem to have no tact. Wants2Fly is right -- word DO hurt, and whether you're over-sensitive or not, people do get hurt.

So sometimes you can't handle your emotions well. It's not a crime. It's just human nature.
