Yay I got to dream that I was hanging out with my dad, and we were going to just relax and have a couple beers and talk and such. Then I woke up and remembered 'oh yeah, he's still in jail.' Dammit, I was already mostly over it...still sad but you know I finally was able to just tell myself 'yeah this really sucks, but he won't be there forever.' and then just not dwell on it. But then I have to have stupid dreams like that which upon waking cause me to entirely re-experience the negative feelings I got the first time I was informed he's in jail.

If he had a lawyer it would probably be over by now...but they still want to get him for a bunch of crap all because he does not understand the whole legal process thing too well.

Im sorry to hear that you dont get to see your dad, it must be realy hard to deal with.
I hope he gets out soon, stop by anytime if you want to talk. Take care of yourself

Yeah I hope he can finally get this crap taken care of once and for all, I guess I just wish there was something I could do to help. He has other family and friends trying to convince him to get a lawyer and help as well since hes certainly not made of money...but having someone who understand the legal process better working with him would probably make all the difference.

But yeah waking up from that dream like that also bothered me because during the dream I had that feeling that things were finally looking up and it would all be ok...the way I used to feel when my parents were not in an argument but then it never lasted because they'd be back at it again. I just wish I didn't care anymore...but the idealist still lives apparently even though I try telling it I'm 23 and its time to grow up and make do with the sh**.

Hi Hellion - im sorry to hear of your situation. Despite the fact the dream bought up some unpleasant feelings at least it signifies that you're thinking of your dad and that he is still very much a part of your life even though the two of you aren't physically close right now. I hope the situation improves for you.
