I am travelling to see relatives I haven't seen - some in a decade - a few who trigger me. I meet with my p doc and t doc tomorrow. This will be the subject of our conversation.

Good I am so glad the relatives will be the topic of your talks. It may help you to deal with the visit! I hope it goes well. Bring some things with you that help...e.g. books, sayings, anything that comforts you!!...and remember the visit is a visit...you will be back home so you only have to put up with them for a while.....even during the visit you could go outside, take a walk, sit in the kitchen , take a very long bathroom break.......anything to restore yourself for a few minutes!!! Thats what its all about...keeping your sanity, and remember your mental health is your first priority!

Hope this goes well for you, at least better than you are expecting. I have the same issues with my family. Avoidance will only make it more and more difficult. Better to face it now and get it over with.

I agree with missbelle, your mental health is your top priority. Make contingency plans for getting away, and bring things that will comfort you. Maybe you could take a friend with you?
