I am not going to my work or my appointments; helping a friend (who isn't respecting my boundaries) I am becoming more irritable.

You shouldn't let anyone disrespect your boundaries. So much of mental illness is tied to "Boundary Issues" setting appropriate boundaries and keeping them in place is SO difficult.
