hey angelbear,

I know you may be in a bad place right now and I have said the same thing myself many times. The feeling and the thought of being sad, afraid, alone for the rest of your life feels absolutely horrible. The truth is in my opinion, is there is absolutely no way you can know that for sure. We know what happened in the past that may have messed with our heads but no one knows what is going to happen in the future. We can't even control everything in the present moment. The one thing we can do is control or at least observe our minds and our thoughts, and what may be perpetuating our suffering. It is tough and takes a lot of effort but it can be done.

Try making notes for yourself. I usually put them on my wall in front of my desk to remind myself of key things when I'm feeling overwhelmed or miserable.

kindly,

Wannabe

Only if that's what you want. Anger helps me sometimes; I don't want to feel bad, to do those things, so I get contrary and do opposite things. I talk back to the sickness and don't accept it. It never has very good words; I can think and express myself much better than it can, even when I'm not doing well.

(((AngelBear)))

I can relate to feeling stuck in hopelessness ~ I've been there too many times myself. My T recognizes that I have a very strong tendency to look on the negative side of life. He often reminds me that I DO have control over changing my perspective. It won't be easy, of course, but it can be done with time and determination.

Time goes by, regardless of my attitude towards life. I have a lot of different problems in my life, but that doesn't mean that I'm doomed to a life of misery. There are still lots (and LOTS!) of simple pleasures in life for us to enjoy. We could choose to focus on those simple pleasures during our low moments, to get us through to a better time in life.
