if your undesirable emotions are persistent then maybe a good idea would be to talk to a therapist. they can help guide you in the right direction.

i know you feel that you don't know why this is happening but do you have any theories? i'd say that most of the time there is something behind our emotions.

The first step in being able to regulate your emotions is accepting them. If you are feeling an emotion, then it is coming from somewhere, whether internal or external. What has been going on around you, or what have you been thinking about when you feel sad or angry? Your emotions are trying to tell you something, just like when you have a physical pain. It is a part of you, telling you that something isn't right (or in the case of emotions that feel good, telling you that something is right).

When emotions are particularly intense or uncomfortable, you can ride the wave of the emotions, and watch them come and go or get stronger. Trying to stop them would be like trying to stop the waves in the ocean. Currants go deep, and it would be unnatural not to have them. Trying to stop it will only wear you down and keep you locked in the negative emotions plus frustration. But emotions do come and go, so you can also be aware of other emotions and notice the ones that feel good too.

These are skills, and if they are skills that you need to work on, therapy can help with that.
