For the last week I was handed a project at work that was out of my element and pleasurable zone. I work from home and for the whole week I could barely drag myself out of bed and when I did, I fumbled through the morning of work until I crashed for a full afternoon nap. It took me the whole week to finish the project that should have taken me 1.5-2 days to complete. I couldn't sit still, I couldn't focus, I was grumpy and even snapped at my pets! Today, I finished the project and got back to my regular routine. Miraculously, or seemingly anyway, I have had a great day. I'm full of energy, laughing, playing with the pets and have worked extra hours today. I never realized how influential the work environment can have on my being as a whole. Am I alone in this?

no... I don't know about work, but I know the school environment for me is very influential. I think it all about what you are interested in. Do you like what you do? Because i find that doing something that i look forward to, and doing something that i am interested in helps me compelte it a lot better and faster than something that is boring.

you certainly arent....its simple..when you do good, you feel good...when you are engaged in something pleasant you are going to feel better about yourself and your world is going to go better...and the opposite holds true. im glad the bad is over for you and you are back in a good place.

It's perfectly normal. When you're asked to do something that is out of your element and "pleasure zone" why WOULD you feel good about it? It's only normal that it would take longer, why it would be difficult to focus on, etc. When we don't like what we're doing, it's very hard to concentrate on it. It's like reading the dictionary! ICK.

Don't feel bad about taking so long on it. It would be different if it had been something you cared about. LOL

Take care and give yourself a break! Hugs, Lee
