lack of emotions: is it the meds or is it me?

I really struggle with knowing whether my lack of emotions for a given situation is due to blunted affect from the meds or if it's me? Do I have a hard heart, so hard that my face can't show emotions? My mind feels numbed so I can't feel and cry like I want to. I want to express and feel love, too, but I can't. Sometimes I feel like it's my fault. What do you think?

Ask your doctor to reduce the meds. Tell doctor about what you are experiencing.

Do talk to doc. I know Lithium can blunt affect, don't know if you might be able to change to a different mood stabilizer---

I like that lake of emotion feeling. Someone could die in front of me and I could just step over their body if they were in my way. I am not on meds and that and that state of numbness comes on. That feeling can also cause me to "freeze" meaning just sit and stare not able to decide what to do. It has has not happened In a while since I started EMDR.

Moodswing I feel the same way, most times I am so cold I could step over whatever body or problem lies in front of me. Or I find myself laughing inappropriately. I am flat affected for sure hmmm is it me or the mind numbing meds, I think it is the horrible meds that have flattened me and made me not care anymore. We just all sail in the same boat.
