I received your e-mail request for a psychiatrist appointment to help you manage your medications.
The primary service of our mental health program is counseling. We offer medication management as an additional service to that counseling. Although we do participate with both Medicare and Medicaid, we currently do not have the capacity to see new clients. We are currently running on a wait list

what good does it do for me to keep trying to find help when these are the damn emails and phonecalls I recveive!!!!

I GIVE UP

Be a Warrior! Be persistent, and have paitence. I think your strong enough to manage your own case while waiting, there is no such thing as instant gratification!.

Be resoucefull, and keep looking with full determination and you will succead! Giving up is just another way of whining.

Long ago, I once feel the way you do. Thus there is a way out. But if and only if you want to be a Warrior!!!

Bleh, this sucks so bad. I'm sorry to see someone going through this. As if getting an appointment at a mental health facility is something we want instead of need. As if it's not as important , or more so in some cases, as getting a doctor's appointment.

I have gotten flack at mental health facilities before and I usually just try looking somewhere else. In my opinion if they give you attitude before you even get the appointment, they will definitely give you attitude at the appointment.

I don't have a solution. I'm sure this isn't the first place you've looked. But I hope you keep looking and trying till you find somewhere decent. I wish you the best of luck.
Thanks for this!

I know that here the system is broken. The ER ends up hosting people in need of critical psych help for days, even weeks, including children...
never mind those who are able to care for themselves ---on your own.
If you can afford it, you can get it.
Otherwise, or in the meantime, look for a peer support group, be a warrior not just in the system but politically---------if you can, watch for bills/legislation and go to speak out, write letters to papers, to your reps, to anyone ----
If that is too much right now...hang in there and keep pushing.
These are tough times.

those who shout the loudest get heard. bug the living daylights out of the head of primary services, email and phone every day until you get the reply you are loooking for, eventually they will be so fed up with your emails and calls that they will do everything in their power and more to get you what you need.

Insisting if I had the money I would do that with no problem but considering I am a single disabled Mom I DO NOT,have the money to do anything but pay bills and take care of my son's needs!!!

I just want to thank everyone for the support and also let you know that I finally found a place that accepts my insurance. They were checking my insurance out and if all is ok with it they will call to schedule appt!!!
