I have problem with concentration (or being focus) at something. For example, if I do play a certain online game. Later a minute or several minutes, I would quit even though I am with other players partying (by party I mean together killing, yes killing online games mobS) mobs there or so, chatting, or so). So I become a very very bad teammate.

But what upset me now is I can't focus reading. I am a bit perfectionist though so I think that contributes somehow. I want to flip pages smoothly and I do not want any page to have scratch or else I get very upset.! Especially when the book is new.

SO earlier, I tried to read a certain book. I really can't follow some texts there, (I mean I can't comprehend what it talking about) so I just try to focus reading the next line. But I really can't move on. I think my mind says that I have to understand it first before taking to the next level.

If I can't understand something and continue reading, my mind is like going to bomb and I want to throw tantrums.. I get very upset.

I also get very very very dismayed when my goals not reached and therefore I can't concentrate anymore...

SO what do you think my problem maybe?

Im sorry Anthony but we can not tell you what your problems maybe...it is you that must tell us what your problems may be...

you see we are not allowed to perform therapy, diagnostics or research on each other. what we do here at psych central is tell each other about ourselves, our problems, ...

and then if someone has the same kind of problem or knows a bit about that same problem that someone is having we post back to each other, to let them know that they/you are not alone, let them/you know what our own treatment providers and we do about fixing that problem in our selves. Sometimes people will make suggestions but you are free to decide to try the suggestion or not based on what your own treatment plans are.

example you posted you have trouble concentrating. I do too at times. At this moment I am dealing with postpartum depression, taking care of new born twins so I dont get much sleep so Im sleep deprived and I also have bipolar disorder, dissociative issues and I also work at a crisis center which my hours right now are part time...All these issues play a part in how my attention span is these days and how well Im able to concentrate, and how fast I get bored with what I am doing at the moment..

my suggestion is if you really want to know why you are having this problem you will need to contact your own treatment providers. they can evaluate and diagnose your problem for you.

Quit playing that Video Game for starters. Do not be so hard on yourself. No one can be perfect and understand every thing they are reading. Throw away that book, it is probably to boring for you any way.

Get out doors and take a walk. Get some fresh air to help you get out of your head and more into your heart~!

I have the same problem, if I get a list of directions, forget it, if I have to list of things to remember for get it, sometimes reading and theres a lot of characters im confused, if peple tell me stories I lose them half way in. Doc John said a lot of people have that problem, he said write list for everything, and that's ok and normal
