RANT ALERT!!!! I have had a high stress day starting with the washing machine breaking and flooding the house. It went downhill from there. I have such a bad stress headache I'm sick to my stomach. I had to run to Wally World to pick up some groceries. I'd planned to go early to avoid the after church crush. Dealing with the flooded house meant I got there later than I planned. The place was packed with old farts blocking the aisles and screaming kids running amok. I grabbed the stuff I needed and beat feet to checkout. The woman in line ahead of me checked out one batch of stuff from her buggy and paid for it. Then she checked out a second batch and paid. Then remembered she still had stuff in the buggy, checked that out and paid. Meanwhile my head is trying to explode. All I want to do is get the F outta there. She turns and looks at me and says "Smile it's the holidays." I swear to pete I wanted to go off on her. |

I'm so sorry you are having such a bad day. It sucks when people think it is okay to tell another person what to do. I hope your day gets better. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There was this man who would always say Smile, Smile! I just looked at him like he was some kind of idiot and I wanted to punch him in the nose

I always hate when people do that to me but I usually am honest with them and tell them that I'm having a bad day or I don't feel well.
There is always the witty remark though..."my face muscles only allow me 40 min of smiling a day so I have to limit it." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've had a think about your Wal-Mart experience. I've come to the conclusion that that woman was being perverse. She knew she inconvenienced you and she thought it was funny and that she'd get some extra mileage out of it.
Well, what goes around comes around. Maybe she'll get stomach flu on Christmas Day. ![]() Last edited by 1776; Dec 08, 2013 at 07:08 PM. |

I hate long lines at Walmart! Lucky the clerk did not need to call a manager to count her money and fill out a long form, as well as writing a small novel!

She knew she was being a pain in the ***, so she found it easier to get mad at you than apologize. I hate it when people do that.

I am NOT a morning person. In any sense of the word. I would rather sleep in til 10 am and stay up late. It is just what feels better for my body. To be honest, on vacation I can literally switch my sleep wake cycle with no problem at all. When I was a kid my dad would tell me to smile every morning when I got up. Given that I had to get up between 6 and 6:30 to go to school, I was not a happy camper. It drove me nuts every day to have to listen to him say it. I'm so glad I don't live with them any more because this one thing was enough to drive me up the wall.

It is also inhuman to expect everybody to be smiling all the time. People have to realize this. I work in retail and nothing infuriates me more than hearing a customer whine about a service person who didn't smile for them. Meanwhile, that service person may have just heard of a loss in the family, a partner had hurt them, a child or loved one might be in hospital or sick, a threat might have come to evict them or any threat in life. Be realistic people!!. Crap happens to everybody and if a worker doesn't smile at you and make you feel warm and fuzzy every single time you go through a line-up, try to consider what kind of day THAT person might be having. I agree, Lizard Lady. We need to allow people to feel what they feel and not try to be "cheerleaders" 24/7. It is humanly impossible to be such a person.
