Do they EVER go away? Do you always have to battle them every day. Its like they come in waves and each one takes something out of me that I don't get back, even if I don't give into the trigger I feel weaker each time.

Maybe in stead of running from the fear ( enforcement ) you face it head on , deal with it so you become "Non Reactive " to it. Used to it , not bothered by it anymore.

I seem to have a daily challenge of some sort, and it's really wearing me down. Today I'm going to therapy for the first time but am having to drive there alone to a place I don't drive to often, it's busy, I'm not even sure where the place is... I woke up stressing about it and won't feel at ease I'm sure til I'm on the way back. I don't drive much, and it's usually local when I do.

I had a therapist who helped me desensitize many triggers. Hard work, but well worth it.
Thanks for this!

I completely agree! I have strange triggers and if I am working they are not as bad but if I'm by myself and depressed everything that I am afraid of blows itself out of proportion! I don't want these triggers and avoid them at all costs!

I don't think triggers will ever go away they will always be part of some emotional association which is hard to manipulate or trick your mind out of. Many triggers prevent me from enjoying life too.

Are you seeing a therapist to learn how to deal with the triggers head on?

If you are somebody who appears irrational about their triggers, as in there are many you must avoid to get through the day, like me, I have realised that the only way to eliminate the triggers is to accept that they are there, and actually get used to being triggered by them as often as possible. It sounds NUTS but you get used to them being part of the spontenuity of life and then you will begin to rationalise these triggers and put them into perspective..

However there are some triggers which I will not work on because I do not believe they are my issue - like people being rude or aggressive to me - that is a main one, whether on the phone, face to face or in a message or going to busy places for example - this is still setting me back from my career.
