I was isolating upstairs and consciously decided to come down stairs to get help/suggestions from my mom to get out of my "funk" (what she likes to call it) so I came down stairs to see that my son was tangled and dragging my yarn across the room. so I asked her in a very monotone way or so I thought "did you see that my son has my yarn" she did not answer me and just kept on working on her on yarn and proceeded to give me a dirt look. now to give her the benefit of the dought she has always said she does not relies that she gives these looks that people are always telling her about. AND it still does not change the fact that it hurt my feelings really really bad. when I just asked her a question. she told me it was because I asked the question in a way that made her feel like an idiot that is why she gave this look that she was unaware of. right now im just crying and really mad and ready to explode on her more. AND this is also helping me calm down. just be able to vent.

Hi, tori. I can understand your being upset, especially since it sounds like you were trying to be tactful in letting her know you thought she should be intervening. Do you think she felt like you needed to be down tending to your son?

Perhaps humor would have helped.
