I have cheated more than once. Im so unworthy of real love. Why was I like this for so long? I have changed my ways but am overwhelmed with guilt. How do I live with myself now

I know it sound like a cliche, but time does heal, could take weeks, months, years.
I am a very in my mind type of person, once i latch onto a thought, bad or good, i run with it immediately. I have been single for around 4years before i met this girl, and to be honest it was hard at first, i feel like its so easy to fall into the wrong ways.

I have never cheated while i had a girlfriend, but what i did was just met this girl, we were just together, not officially at first, and i was so used to the single life, that i forget to stop being so flirtatious. Went out and met girls all through friends tho, held hands all intimately. i feel so bad now for doing that, i stopped all contact with them and just gave attention to this girl, because i couldnt get her out of my mind. Once i asked her out finally, shes all i can think of, and didnt want to do anything that would hurt her, for me that is helping.

But at the end, we are all human, we have basic needs, we get aroused, and the logic part just switches of at that moment. I just try to never put myself into that position again, or when it starts or i see this might turn bad , i withdraw myself.

You can always change, and you have, there was always good in you, that's why you're guilty now. It takes a lot of courage to admit to cheating, and that's a clear sign that you've changed and should give yourself another chance.
