My phone is usually on silent because I get very anxious whenever my phone rings because I fear bad news. In fact every time certain people call me, I just know it's bad news on the other end. And yet there are times, I'm staring at my phone waiting for a call and when it happens if it does, my heart pounds and I fear the worst.

I have a cell phone and people I know are in the cell phone address book so when it rings I know who it is. That can tell me if it is good to pick up the phone or not. I am sorry you are so anxious about the phone ringing.

You may want to turn off the phone for a day or two, and see how you feel.

I think it might be because I associate it when my boyfriend dumped me a few years back and said these words, "We need to talk." That phrase alone makes me think the worst and just sadness and fear. Right now, I am pretty sure he's gonna dump me again and so I am terrified anytime anyone calls. The like one time he's called me this week, I fear it's going to be that news again. I've had this fear for a long time now.
