Hello everyone-
Lately, I've been having this impulse to fly to Los Angeles out of nowhere. Now, I'm 17 and have little to no money. I live in the Chicago area now, and Los Angeles is attractive to me because it is so warm there right now. This impulse has been there in and out for a few months, but it's the strongest right now. I know not to do it, but why am I having this impulse?
Also, I had an impulse to get arrested yesterday (I thought it was a good idea). Why is this? Thank you.
xo

That does seem like a couple of strange impulses. I'm glad that you are able to let them pass by without acting on them. I'm not sure what would cause this. You might want to ask your doctor.

I have been having those kind of impulses too... I want to just go on a road trip or go camping all of a sudden. And there is snow here. I'm seventeen too so I can't exactly act on these without help. I've been having some other impulses too which were a "what?" To me. I don't know why I am having them either.

I wonder if it's just impulse control disorder (that's a real thing, ahha). I also have the same issue with alcohol (because I have a bit of an addiction to it and I crave it). idk

ADHD can cause impulsivity, so does mania from bipolar disorder. Just another two options.

I have ADHD. It's just weird because I haven't been this impulsive in a long time.
