This could fit in several different spots I figured this was best since emotion is the central theme imo.

Someone jokingly made the reference in one of my earlier posts about drunken parents being like “trolls” on the internet. Then after work today it hit me. All people who give you crap b/c you can’t really fight back are trolls. Check this out:

Internet “troll”
Protected by anonymity. Does not care who they hurt b/c of detachment via computer screen. Most likely has personal issues. Will put others down but won’t consider changes to themselves. Has nothing constructive to say.

Irrate drunk parent
Protected by age and financial freedom. Does not care who they hurt b/c of inebriation. Most likely is hurting. Will put down others and won’t even listen to anything dealing with them. Has little to nothing positive or constructive to say.

Controlling co-worker or boss
Protected by job politics or status. Does not care who they step on if it means their success. Most likely is self-conscious and fearful of the future. Will never see the other worker’s POV. Will not reinforce good behavior only punish bad behavior. Will never be wrong.

I added that last one on the boss b/c of what happened today it’s what started all this thinking.

Theme seems to be, in putting others down. Of course it's much easier to point the flaws in others than take a hard look in the mirror. Meaningful insight. Toxic people are downright toxic. Sorry to hear of struggles, at work.

i agree with healing4me, more people need to take a long hard good look in the mirror. if the shoe was on the other foot they might see and behave differrently. give them a taste of their own medicine too. sorry for the usual phrases but they fit the situation.

Thanks avlady! I since talked a bit with the fam they said (condensed) "don't worry about it, you'll be far above and away soon enough." I believe that.

Also forgot to say I would like to show them what it's like with them. Idk how to do that with supervisors though.
