Quite recently, I was in an abusive relationship. There were times that I got so hurt I would dissociate with my feelings. I'd be sitting there, crying my eyes out with a heart that feels like it had been butchered, blanched, and served for breakfast when in my mind I'd feel like a third person seeing all of it as if I was an audience. I could even make commentaries and whatnot. Is that normal or should I be seeking help for this on top of trauma from the abuse?

Yes, I would think that it would be very possible. It helps you make it through the bad times as a protective method of coping.
