but I really dislike my bf adult son. Iv;e tried so hard and the more I get to know him , the less I like him and the feeling is mutual.

I try in similar circumstances to just remind myself that he is not my problem and there is nothing I can do about it. I am polite but always cautious. I don't even talk to my friend about it. I just accept the way things are and try to stay very neutral.
