Before I got kicked out of partial we were talking about anger. And how it's a secondary emotion I knew that. It takes the place of another emotion usually. For example a rat being poked by a child repeatedly the feeling could be anger but first is fear so the rat bites which is rage. From what I remember there are three stages hurt anger and rage you get an external and internal body response before you get to each stage.I told the teacher when I'm in the hospital I tend to hurt myself and act impulsively I jump from anger to rage. And she said well there is something I am not seeing. I feel I need to figure it out if I ever am to have a chance at getting the right mental health care I need to regain self control .when I am in the hospital

maybe you will find something helpful in an article posted by CANDC for the Friday nite Anxiety Chat...

here is a little bit on Shame, the emotion underlying much anger and the hiding of one's true self:

“We hide by avoiding things that will change us … We hide by asking for reassurance. We hide by letting someone else speak up and lead … We live in fear of feelings.”

Shame is the hiding emotion. Here are some of my thoughts on the origin of hiding:"

PassionFruit, that sounds like a lot of growth. It is nice when we can figure things out, the triggers, the reactions to our circumstances. I hope that recovery continues to go in the right direction for you (((hugs))) blessings and tc
