We get caught up trying to live up to what we think other peoples' expectations are. Give yourself permission to be sick. Allow yourself to heal on your own terms. Cope and make your recovery your own.

Wise advice! I learned to accept myself for who I am in all aspects of my life. I stay true to myself...and letting go of people's expectations of me was part of that. The entire concept of imposing my will or expectations on others feels foreign to me, with the exception of being a good parent to my child.

I like your last sentence - I'm focusing on strengthening my coping skills, currently. I know that I'm the one who is ultimately responsible for managing my MI.
