Hi, I'm new to forums in general, I'm feeling messed up and miserable when I need to be happy for my daughter who wants to celebrate New Year. Just want to curl up in a ball, stop thinking and sleep.

It's ok to feel this way. Life can't always be happy whenever we want it to be.
There are many things which lead to such feelings towards life.
Would you like to share a piece of the pain?

I'm watching inside out right now and it's at the bit where they realise it's sometimes healthy to allow sadness to be felt.
We can't be happy all the time, maybe you need a rest and invest some time into self care.
